About

Our Mission

Through litigation or settlements with Public Utilities, while working with the Indiana State Congress to unbundle distribution charges, we plan to democratize wholesale power generation for all businesses.

Our History

Midwest Wholesale Power Specialists specializes in the Federal Power Act of 1935 and the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (PURPA). We inspire to create fair competition for all large consumers of power generation throughout the Midwest. Our company was founded as a response to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission's approval of Cause No. 45159 in 2019. As a result, large industrial customers were given access to the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) wholesale power market while requiring smaller customers to continue paying premium rates for the same service.

Our Contingency-based Fee Structure

Our fees are 100% contingency-based. We perform all advisory services at no initial cost and only collect a management fee if we deliver your business cost savings. If we are unable to obtain the minimum negotiated net-gain for your company, our services are free.

Our Services

Transmission Services

Power markets are complicated. MWPS will implement and manage regulatory and operational strategies to ensure your business access to wholesale power markets. As a part of our contingency-based fee structure, we plan to work with the Indiana State Congress to give Distribution customers the same rights.

Asset Owners (AO)

Midwest RTOs have special polices that give customers access to the wholesale power market physically or financially. MWPS will manage the entire process with your RTO and utility provider, provide long-term energy strategies and intervene in every fuel cost and rate case filing throughout the relationship. Already an AO? MWPS’s strategies may still provide incremental cost savings at zero risk to your business.

Path to Net-Zero

MWPS will develop a personalized Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy to help your business achieve Net-Zero on a realistic and cost effective timeline. Strategies include carbon capture, geothermal storage and other solutions which are subsidized by the Department of Energy (DOE).

Behind-the-Meter-Generation

Behind-the-Meter-Generation is a great option for small and large customers to get access to renewable energy and avoid utility transmission charges. MWPS will negotiate deals with independent power producers and manufacturers on purchase power agreements on your behalf as part of our contingency-based service fee structure.

Power Hedging

MWPS will structure deals with independent power producers to help your business secure short-term (minimum 1 hour) and long-term power deals that will compete with the wholesale market and provide a stable hedge against energy inflation.

Bitcoin Mining

MWPS has a unique understanding of mining economics and realizes with each halving, more and more miners are projected to go out of business. Miners who plan to be around for the next few halvings need to start lowering their cost of electricity through MWPS’s regulatory and operational strategies in Midwest states (not Texas).
